Feb5 I am Chen C. Perante, a fourth year student taking Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology. As I make my way to last semester of my year in college, I am required to take On-the-job training in a host training establishment for preparation in working in real world after school.
I am interning at a steel construction company called Amsteel Structures, Incorporated. It is a company constructing different steel work assignments both for industrial and residential services. I started my on-the-job training at Amsteel on October 21, and assigned to work with Accounting Department.
I started in accounts receivable and supervised by Ms. Clemen Cenina an accountant under Mrs. Linda Casco, accounting manager. On my first day I was very nervous on what will happen in working there but the people I have worked with made it very enjoying.
I can say that Ms. Cenina thought me a lot.
Due professional care must be exercised at all times. Employees must exercise competence and utmost care from the date the engagement is being negotiated with the client. It involves diligence and appropriate attention in carrying assignments.
In my working at a construction company is very challenging but fun because they acquire a lot of working assignments both in long term and short term bases.
I have practiced a lot of my accounting skills more on Advance accounting because of project billing and ventures. And also in cost accounting because it involves a lot of inventories in materials, labors and other material expenses incurred. The host training establishments like Amsteel Structures, Inc.
Working with Amsteel is such a journey. All OJTs had experienced different things in working in a real world. I have developed as a trainee to follow strictly on instructions to ensure that the process is properly sequence.
Ask question, if required, to clarify your understanding about things and this prevent you for incurring errors. I can say that I gained to work effectively and competently in the organization.
I improve my self confidence in socializing to people. I have the initiative in doing something. In my hours of OJT I can say that the course I enrolled is exactly where I want and I will probably stay in this profession for as long job opportunities are present.
I will be an asset to the company which I work with. I see myself socializing to my co-workers. As I entered college I am prepared that one day I will be working in the real world. So after taking this on-the-job training I am assuring myself that this will help me in my future job.
I know that hours is not enough to fully understand the real situation in working in real world but I am sure that I can cope up easily and flexibly to whatever my future job will be. I am grateful that I will be entering a new chapter in my life after OJT and graduation.
