Explain to the students that each time you say no, that they should clap. Each time you say yes, they should stomp. Then create simple rhythms with these words such as…no, no, no which would be clap, clap, clap. No, no, yes, yes would be clap, clap, stomp, stomp and so on.
The students will enjoy creating their own rhythms and having the class follow. Yes or no sorting — Give the students different printouts of behavior pictures. You can print these for free from Mrs. Have the students place their foods onto the card that corresponds with their likes and dislikes.
Read out loud the foods from the yes and no columns. Hold up yes and no spoons. Write the words yes and no on plastic spoons. Have students hold up a spoon for yes or no depending on the behavior of David on the page you are reading.
